PERCY MAYFIELD - WORLD RENOWNED ENTERTAINER, but still a STRANGER IN HIS OWN HOMETOWN - Never got enough recognition or perhaps never understood by the small town of MINDEN, LA as to the magnitude of his FAME and contributions to the MUSIC INDUSTRY around the world. PERCY MAYFIELD is inducted into THE BLUES HALL OF FAME and also THE LOUISIANA MUSIC HALL OF FAME. Without a doubt, PERCY MAYFIELD is the BIGGEST entertainer from the MUSIC INDUSTRY that ever graduated from WEBSTER HIGH SCHOOL. Therefore in recognition of our upcoming WHS CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION,  August 8-11, 2024, the Class Of 1958 would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the man known as "The poet laureate of the blues", MR.
